Doughboy to defend at World Poker Challenge?

An epic Day 1 is on tap for the World Poker Tour's (WPT) World Poker Challenge today, and "everyone who's anyone" apparently hopped the bus to Reno and have set their sights on taking the title from last year's unheralded champ, Michael "Doughboy" Simon.

A legendary stop on the gambling trail and set in the midst of the stunning Sierra Mountains, the "Biggest Little City in the World" rarely has a hard time drawing people to its confines.

The WPT World Poker Challenge at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino is no exception, with the accessible $5,000 buy-in and occasional $1 million plus first-place prize not the least of incentive.

Last year, a final table void of big names - save one Barry Greenstein (pictured), who made his exit early - led to a lucrative million dollar payday and a story-to-tell-the-grandkids moment for Atlantic City pro Michael "Doughboy" Simon.

This year, the aforementioned "everyone who's anyone" apparently have arrived for the main event, and PokerListings.com's own Matt Showell has made his way feltside, in inappropriately tight ski pants and some furry boots, no less, to bring you the coverage.
