Dot.com logos to be allowed at 2007 WSOP

Harrah's Operating Company, Inc. has opened pre-registration and disclosed the new tournament rules for the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP). This year, tournament participants will be allowed to wear dot.com logos as long as the gaming site they're promoting does not conduct business with U.S. residents.

Pre-registration for the 2007 WSOP opened Feb. 26, and according to World Series of Poker commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, people will find the restrictions regarding player apparel far more liberal and accomodating this year.

"In recognition of the endorsement agreements that provide income to many poker players, we've liberalized our policy to allow tournament entrants to wear apparel with multiple logos and patches," said Jeffrey Pollack in a Harrah's Entertainment release.

"We encourage all players and their sponsors to review the rules well in advance of the tournament." said Pollack.

PokerListings.com has done just that - reviewed the 2007 World Series of Poker Tournament Rules, and this is what we found:

"Tournament participants will be allowed to promote dot.com gaming sites as long as the gaming site in question does not conduct business with U.S. residents. Last year, dot.com logos for gaming sites were not allowed at all."

Dot.net logos will be allowed as well. It is, however, stated in the rules that "all logos, patches, and promotional language for any dot.net Web site must contain a clear and visible 'dot.net' suffix at least the same size as the site name."

The entire 2007 World Series of Poker Tournament Rules can be found on the official World Series of Poker Web site.
