'Everyman' the hero at Vegas Grand Prix

Sweatpants and a promotional jersey may not be the most "super" of costumes, but the poker world certainly provides its chances for "Everyman" to take center stage. Here comes another: Satellites for the "Everyman" main event at the Vegas Grand Prix start today at Binion's Horseshoe Gambling Hall and Casino.

Daily satellites will run for a full 45 days at Binion's, the original home of the World Series of Poker, with satellite winners getting a seat in the "Everyman" main event set for race week, Apr. 2-6.

The Vegas Grand Prix itself then follows, with a three-day festival from Apr. 6-8 highlighted of course by the race itself and a celebrity poker event Apr. 7, in Benny's Bullpen.

Poker pros Patrik Antonius, Robert Williamson III, Marcel Luske and Hoyt Corkins are already confirmed for the event, with the $10,000 buy-in set to fund the prize pool and benefit a variety of Vegas Grand Prix charities.

"This event brings together the best elements of the poker world," says Wendy Meadley, CEO of Poker Resource Network, the company responsible for the poker event.

"The opportunity for the everyman player to play, the excitement of a celebrity event and the opportunity to give back to the Las Vegas community."
