Spring, surprise in the forecast for PartyPoker.com

PartyPoker.com knows what people want in the middle of winter: surprise bonus money, and visions of poker in the milder spring. So they're providing both, with $25,000 in surprise cash on offer this week and satellites underway for the Spring Poker Festival 2007 in Vienna.

Watch out for the surprise announcements in the PartyPoker.com lobby all this week (Jan. 15-19) from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. (EST).

Anything could happen, they say, with $25,000 in extra cash to be spread around on the spur of the moment. A $22 tournament with $400 added to the prize pool might be put up, and a $6 tournament with an additional $200 put up 10 minutes later.

Play could start in as little as five minutes after registration is opened, so players need to be quick on the draw.

All of the tournaments will be first-come, first-served and will be No-Limit Hold'em, but the buy-in and the money added will be varied. Some freerolls will also be on the slate.

If you're not quick enough to get in on one of the surprise parties, PartyPoker.com is also offering satellites for entry packages to two of the tournaments in the Spring Poker Festival 2007 in Vienna, Austria from Mar. 7-18.

One of those tournaments is the East vs. West European Challenge. The first 50 players from each side to qualify will win seats in the televised event with a €100,000 prize pool to go Mar. 11.

The other is the televised five-day main event itself, starting Mar. 12, with an estimated €900,000 prize pool.

Main event packages include the $4,200 buy-in, seven nights accommodation and $1,000 spending money.

Daily qualifiers are already underway, and more information can be found at PartyPoker.com
