Hollywood Poker pays out big in December

December was a good month for Hollywood Poker players. The poker site paid out more than $10,000 in celebrity bounties during the month.

Players at Hollywood Poker have a chance three times per week to take out celebrities in tournaments for extra cash. There's the Canadian Poker Night, the Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational and the Celebrity Classic.

These tournaments usually have celebrities in attendance to try their hand at winning some money, and a few of them are selected as bounties. The player who knocks one of them out earns extra cash.

Those three events also feature a Progressive Bounty payout system. Through that system, the more celebrity players a person knocks out, the more money that player wins.

According to Hollywood Poker, players have collected as much as $2,500 for a single hand for knocking out a bounty player.

Some of the familiar celebrity faces at the tables this month have been Mimi Rogers, from "Austin Powers"; Yancey Aria, "CSI: Miami"; Josh Malina, "The West Wing"; Pamela Gidley, "The Pretender"; and Mary McCormack, "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star."

Not only did players have a chance to take home loads of cash this holiday season, they could also take home some of the Hollywood Poker Girls. The site was offering a Hollywood Poker Girls Calendar to players who made a deposit and played at Hollywood Poker during the month.

Players also have a chance now to vote on who they think should be in the 2008 calendar.

For more information and to check out other promotions and tournaments at the site, visit Hollywood Poker.
