Series chronicles Rob and Amber's stab at pro poker

They've tackled the Panamanian jungle and the overflowing streets of India, but can reality-TV sweethearts Rob and Amber Mariano survive the professional poker world?

Cameras recently followed the couple - made famous by their respective stints on the television series "Survivor" - as Rob attempted to make it as a pro poker player in Las Vegas.

The result is "The Rob and Amber Project," which will debut on the Fox network Jan. 11 and run in 10 half-hour episodes.

In a release, Fox Reality promises a show that will track the pair's ups and downs as Rob attempts to risk their "Survivor" winnings in order to make millions more at the poker table.

The Marianos are no strangers to the small screen. Each appeared in a season of "Survivor" and both were cast in the "Survivor: All Stars" special, which Amber won and Rob finished as runner-up.

They parlayed their fame into a second-place finish on the reality travel series "The Amazing Race" and, in 2005, had their wedding broadcast on TV.

"From the confines of their master bedroom to the super-secret poker dens, audiences will see this newly-married couple live glamorously on the edge," the Fox release says.

One thing is for certain, however: Rob didn't find great success as a tournament player. His only notable cash was at the Bodog.com founder Calvin Ayre's Wild Card Poker event, where he won $50,000 for winning his tournament table.
