Day 5 Results at 2014 WPT LA Poker Classic

The Final Table is now ready as Day 5 finished at the 2014 LA Poker Classic. The final six players include three previous bracelet winners of WSOP. They are: chip leader Michael Rocco who was able to accumulate 5,615,000 chips, Patrick Bruel, a Frenchman, who won his first WSOP bracelet back in 1998 and ended Day 5 3rd in chip counts and Adam Friedman with $1,400,000 in lifetime poker winnings who ended Day 5 6th in chip counts.

In terms of WPT records, this is the first final table appearance of both Chris Moorman and Adam Friedman. Even if Moorman’s total income in online tournaments has already reach over $10,000,000 together with two 2nd place finishes in WSOP earning him $700,000, he still hasn’t been awarded with any major title. As for Friedman, despite the fact that he already got a WSOP bracelet, a WPT title eludes him still.

As for the other two final table players, Glenn Lafaye already made money three times in Boragata during Main Events and Josh Neufeld has already ranked 100th in one of the WSOP Main Events plus he has already received an LAPT title. Basically, at this point in the game, with all the top players in the final table, anybody can get the crown.

There were other renowned players though who ran out of luck and busted out on Day 5 like Alex Masek finishing in 13th place, Joe Serock, former WPT Player of the Year (POY) who was sent home in 10th place, Dan O’Brien the unlucky bubble boy, Hasan Habib finishing in 16th plus 6 other former WPT champions: Matt Waxman finishing in 26th, Ravi Raghavan finishing in 19th, Eugene Katchalov finishing in 40th, Eric Hershler finishing in 29th, Andy Frankenberger finishing in 60th and Joe Tehan finishing in 44th. They were able to still make money nonetheless.

The 2014 LA Poker Classic has a total of 534 players as compared to 2013’s total of 517. Each of the final table players will have a guaranteed prize of at least more than $200k but the first place finisher will get the much coveted $1M+ cash prize. The champion will also have his very own WPT Champions Cup with his name etched on it forever plus a trip to the WPT Championship in April 2014.

The 2014 WPT LA Poker Classic Final Table will commence at 4pm PT/7pm ET at the Commerce Casino on the WPT stage. Watch out for it.
